Dear Yoyogi International School Community,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Mr. Paul Evan Apostolou as the next
Head of School of Yoyogi International School, effective August 1, 2026.

Following a thorough international search process, we are delighted to welcome Mr. Apostolou to
our community. His extensive experience in international education, deep expertise in the
International Baccalaureate, and strong commitment to student wellbeing and educational
excellence make him exceptionally well-suited to lead Yoyogi International School into its next
stage of growth.

As our school continues to expand, including the opening of Grade 9 and the development of our
secondary school program, I am confident that Mr. Apostolou’s leadership, vision, and
collaborative approach will strengthen our commitment to providing a world-class international
education while remaining true to our mission and values.

Mr. Paul Evan Apostolou

Mr. Paul Apostolou

Mr. Apostolou is an accomplished international educator and school leader with more than twenty
years of experience in Australian and international schools across Australia and Japan.

Most recently, he served as Assistant Principal (ELC–Year 12) and Head of Junior School at St.
George College in Adelaide, South Australia, where he played a key role in strategic planning,
leadership development, and whole-school improvement initiatives.

Previously, he served as Deputy Principal and Acting Principal at the Australian International
Academy of Education, where he helped secure authorization for all three International
Baccalaureate programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP). He also worked at Tamagawa Academy in
Tokyo, contributing to the development of one of Japan’s pioneering IB programmes.

Mr. Apostolou holds a Master of Education (Leadership), a Master of Applied Linguistics, both
from Macquarie University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Flinders University, Australia.
He has been an active member of the International Baccalaureate Educators Network since
2011, serving as a Workshop Leader, Evaluation and Programme Leader, and Consultant for IB
schools throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Recognized for his collaborative leadership style, commitment to student wellbeing, and
dedication to educational excellence, Mr. Apostolou is deeply aligned with Yoyogi International
School’s mission of nurturing globally minded learners through inquiry, creativity, and care.
